Alumni honored at 23rd annual achievement awards ceremony

Purdue University's Lyles School of Civil Engineering recognized six passionate, influential and visionary graduates during the 23rd annual Civil Engineering Alumni Achievement Awards banquet on April 14, 2016.

Civil Engineering at Purdue has a long history of educating outstanding engineers – and the Civil Engineering Alumni Achievement Awards gives the School the opportunity to recognize the career accomplishments of some of our most influential graduates.

The primary criterion in the selection process is excellence. The alumni achievement award applauds career achievements and contributions to the civil engineering profession. The recipients are selected by a faculty committee and approved by the entire civil engineering faculty.

This year’s honorees are:

JEFFREY L. COPELAND (BSCE 1969), Chairman – Elford, Inc.

JAMES H. CURE (BSCE 1975), President Emeritus – Advanced Technology Group

CARLOS M. HERNANDEZ (BSCE 1976), Executive Vice President, Chief Legal Officer and Secretary – Fluor Corporation

MARK J. PERNICONI (BSCE 1974, MSCE 1976), Executive Director – Charles Pankow Foundation

DAVID G. REUTER (BSCE 1988), Pediatrician – Allegro Pediatrics
Director – Cardiac Innovations Division of Pediatric Cardiology, Seattle Children’s Hospital

NANCY E. URIDIL (BSCE 1974), Independent Director – Federal Home Loan Bank of Cincinnati and Flexsteel Industries
