Tariq U. Saeed, a graduate student in the Lyles School of Civil Engineering was recently named a national Eno Fellow,  Class of 2017, a select group of exceptionally promising graduate students who plan to pursue careers in transportation.

The Eno Center for Transportation (Eno) was founded in 1921 by William Phelps Eno (1859-1945), who pioneered the field of transportation management in the United States and Europe. The mission of the Eno Center for Transportation is to cultivate creative leadership and to impact emerging issues for the nation's multi-modal transportation system. Eno is currently a national leader in shaping transportation policy.

Each year, the Eno Future Leaders Development Conference (LDC) provides only 20 of the nation's top graduate students in transportation a first-hand look at how national transportation policies are developed. This year, Eno's Board of Regents chose the students from a large number of nominees from top universities across the country.

Eno Fellows are invited to participate in Leadership Development Conference (LDC), an intensive week-long professional development program held each spring in Washington, D.C., which includes meetings with federal officials, congressional staffers and champions of business and non-profit organizations. Purdue's last representation at Eno was in 2008.
