Adnan Rajib, a member in Dr. Venkatesh Merwade's research team in the Lyles School of Civil Engineering, is the recipient of the Spring 2017 Outstanding Graduate Student Award.

Adnan Rajib, a member in Dr. Venkatesh Merwade's research team in the Lyles School of Civil Engineering, is the recipient of the Spring 2017 Outstanding Graduate Student Award.

This top honor recognizes one CE graduate student for outstanding service to the Purdue University and to the community, service character, organizational involvements, as well as technical and academic achievements through research, teaching, scientific publications and technical awards.

Adnan's specialization bridges multi-disciplinary problems, mostly focusing on computational hydrology with satellite remote sensing and hydroinformatics with big geospatial data. While working with Dr. Merwade for his PhD, Adnan played a leadership role in NOAA – National Water Center’s 2016 Innovators Program, where he coordinated projects of national impact involving flood hazard and disaster management. Earlier, in February 2016, Adnan was also awarded with the prestigious Bilsland Dissertation Fellowship, by Purdue's College of Education, recognizing a PhD candidate for scholarly achievements and excellence in research.
