Tariq U. Saeed, Hugh W. and Edna M. Donnan Doctoral Candidate of Transportation & Infrastructure Systems Engineering at Purdue University's Lyles School of Civil Engineering, is the 2018 winner of the Jack E. Leisch Fellowship Award. With a strong showing as runner-up for this year's fellowship is CE doctoral student Seyed Ali Ghahari.

Tariq U. Saeed, Hugh W. and Edna M. Donnan Doctoral Candidate of Transportation & Infrastructure Systems Engineering at Purdue University's Lyles School of Civil Engineering, is the 2018 winner of the Jack E. Leisch Fellowship Award. Tariq's research interests and experience during the doctoral program are spanned over a spectrum of areas ranging from highway geometric design, and safety analysis to travel behavior modeling, transportation financing, and highway infrastructure design and management in the era of connected and autonomous transportation.

With a strong showing as runner-up for this year's fellowship is CE doctoral student Seyed Ali Ghahari. Ali, studying under Professor Sam Labi, is working on a dissertation that is identifying and measuring corruption and cost inefficiencies in global infrastructure delivery.
